Meditation and breathwork in Colombo
Meditation at Svastha is guided and practical. You are taught a small number of techniques that can be used during an ordinary day. You can sit in a chair, and you do not need previous experience.
What we teach
Breathing techniques. Simple patterns, including a longer exhale and box breathing.
Body scanning. Moving your attention through the body and noticing where you are holding tension.
Guided attention. Following the instructor's voice and returning when your attention wanders.
If sitting quietly feels difficult
You are not expected to stop thinking. The practice is noticing when your attention has wandered and bringing it back. A sound bath is another option if you prefer to listen rather than follow a guided technique.
