Core strength and mat work

Core and posture classes use controlled mat work and held bodyweight positions. The work focuses on the core, back and hips. Movements are paced with your breathing, with no jumping or weights.

    Core and Form

Core and Form runs Monday at 6:00pm and Tuesday at 7:30am. It is in the studio and lasts 60 minutes. Small, controlled movements work the deep core, back and hips. It looks gentle and it is not, but you can work at your own level.

    Strengthening Yoga

A dynamic class that builds heat. Yoga postures combined with functional fitness movement, working the core, arms and legs. This one is a workout. It is built around muscular endurance and control, and you will feel it the next day. The small group means your form still gets watched while you are working hard. Not the place to start if it is your first week. Good for stamina, strength, and getting a proper workout without leaving the mat.

Strengthening Yoga runs Wednesday at 7:00pm. It is in the studio and lasts 60 minutes.

    Does this replace the gym?

It does not have to. Plenty of people here lift or run as well, and the two sit well together. Core and posture work supports whatever else you are doing. And if this ends up being the only movement in your week, that is a good place for it to be.
