Yoga classes in Colombo
Svastha Studio runs small group yoga classes in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, about fifteen minutes from central Colombo. Classes are capped at 6 to 7 people. You do not need experience or flexibility to start.
What a small class is like
With 6 to 7 people, the instructor can see how you are moving and offer an option when you need one. You are taught throughout the class instead of being left to copy the room.
The classes we teach
[Hatha yoga](/hatha-yoga-colombo) moves at a steady pace. You hold each position long enough to understand it.
[Gentle yoga](/gentle-yoga-colombo) is slower and more supported. It works well when your body feels stiff or you want less effort.
[Flex and Flow](/flex-and-flow-colombo) is a beginner friendly Hatha based class. The movements link into a steady sequence.
[Strengthening Yoga](/core-strength-colombo) combines yoga positions with functional fitness movement. This one is a workout and is not the place to start in your first week.
[Candlelit yoga](/candlelit-yoga-colombo) is a slow evening class in low light.
Your first class
Come ten minutes early. Wear something you can move in. Mats are provided, or bring your own if you prefer. Tell the instructor if anything hurts.
